Wood Stain and Coating Add-On

Your Rivian interior has a name. Your workstation should dress accordingly.

Choose a custom stain to help your workstation match — or intentionally complement — your Rivian’s interior, whether you’re team Black Mountain, Ocean Coast, or something in between. Rivian put plenty of thought into the cabin, so plain wood shouldn’t crash the party.

Add a polyurethane coating for extra protection against coffee rings, lunch breaks, snack crumbs and everything else that happens when your tiny office doubles as a dining room.

Stain

Choose Minwax from the Stain dropdown, then tell us your preferred shade in the order notes at checkout. You can select one of the examples shown in the product photos or choose another Minwax color from the Minwax website linked below. Because local retailers don’t carry every shade, we’ll reach out if your selection isn’t available and help you choose the closest alternative. Penetrating wood stain works best.

Because every piece of hardwood is unique, the final color will vary slightly depending on the wood species, grain and number of coats. We’ll do our best to achieve the look you’re after, but an exact color match cannot be guaranteed. 

Have a very specific color in mind? You may prefer to order the workstation unfinished and stain it yourself.

Protective Coating

Choose Polyurethane from the Coating dropdown to add 2–3 coats of Minwax oil-based polyurethane. This protective finish helps guard against coffee rings, spills, food and everyday wear.

Please note: Once polyurethane has been applied, the workstation cannot be stained or easily refinished at home. If you plan to customize the stain yourself, order it without the protective coating.

Custom Finishes Are Final Sale

Because stain and protective coatings are applied specifically to your workstation, they cannot be undone. Custom-finished workstations are therefore not eligible for returns or refunds.
